Magdalene Zaki
Magdalene (Maddie) Zaki is a Sudanese refugee currently residing in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Her family fled Sudan due to war when she was three years old and relocated to Kenya, where she grew up before resettlement in Canada. Magdalene is currently pursuing an International Bachelor of Arts in Law and Public Policy and Sociology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition to serving as a Refugee Advisory Member for the Refugee Advisory Network of Canada and Cohere Charity, she is the Partnership and Fundraising Lead for Humanity Hands, a refugee-led organization based in Kakuma, Kenya.
