John Jonaid

John Jonaid is a Rohingya-born activist, journalist, and researcher based in Ottawa. He is deeply committed to refugee advocacy and humanitarian efforts. As a former Parliamentary fellow, he has collaborated on key initiatives addressing the Rohingya crisis and migration issues, including the IDRC Myanmar Initiative. His work has been featured in major outlets such as BBC, CBC, OpenCanada, and Al Jazeera. John co-founded The Archipelago Magazine and Humans in Flight, both platforms dedicated to empowering refugees and raising global awareness of their struggles. He is currently a graduate student at Carleton University.
